While simple in its nature, CareCalls has many applications, below is a summary of the most popular:

  1. Remembering pills and medication
  2. Remembering important tasks
  3. Home safety

Remembering pills and medication

While CareCalls can remind you of any household task, the most popular reminder is for medication. CareCalls can be used to remind you to take any form of pills or medication. This includes:

  • Less frequent and easily forgotten prescriptions, such as those for Alzheimer's.
  • Frequent and strictly timed prescriptions, such as those for Parkinson’s.

We can record messages specifying different types of medication, for example:

  • "This is your nine o’clock reminder to take the blue pill”.
  • "This is your twelve o’clock reminder to take the red pill”.

They can have as many of these messages as are needed throughout the day.
You can read more about recording personalised messages here.

We recommend that pills or medication are left by the phone to maximise effectiveness.

Medication reminders can be partnered with wellbeing checks. So if a medication reminder phone call is not answered, a neighbour or family member can be informed by text, phone or email. For example: Someone with Diabetes may need a morning and evening reminder for medication. If either call is not answered (after a couple of attempts) then the neighbour could be informed as they may have had a seizure. You can read more about alerts here.

Remembering important tasks

CareCalls can be used to remind someone of any household tasks. For example:

  • Reminders to wash
  • A prompt to eat or hydrate
  • Reminders to lock the doors at night

They can have as many of these messages as are needed throughout the day.

These messages can be recorded by either a member of CareCalls staff or a voice familiar to the call receiver e.g a son or daughter. You can read more about personalised message recording here.

Task reminders can be partnered with wellbeing checks. So if a task reminder phone call is not answered, a neighbour or family member can be informed by text, phone or email. You can read more about alerts here.

Home safety

CareCalls can be set up to check that someone is alright. if a home safety check is not answered, a neighbour or family member can be informed by text, phone or email. You can read more about alerts here.
